Carolina Gartenberg of Washington, D.C., visited the Beit Ambousa Ethiopian Cultural Center as a member of the Israel Bonds National Women’s Division 2017 Israel Delegation last month. Co-chair of Israel Bonds’ Young Investors Society, Gartenberg also serves on the social action committee at the DC Minyan.
Meeting an Ethiopian woman growing corn from her native country on her own plot of land in Israel, Gartenberg said she learned how the cultural center is “making sure that practices that have been around for centuries are not lost with future generations.”
“During that afternoon, I was able to appreciate how Israel plays a major role in Jewish life across the world . . . Our investments, including through Israel Bonds, are not only investments in Israel but also investments that help Jewish communities around the world come to Israel and thrive,” she said.
