Gesher’s fifth, sixth, and seventh graders had a special conversation with retired Mets baseball player, Art Shamsky when he came to visit the school on Friday May 5 after speaking at the previous evening’s Gesher with a TWIST event.
“Be proud about being Jewish, no matter where you are,” he told the students. “Standing strong with my Jewish identity is the most important thing I have ever done. Your actions can set the example and inspire others.”
“Things have a way of working out; never give up. Work hard, practice, you never know who is watching. The world can open up for you at the most unexpected moment,” he said.
