Zoey Brookler is a sixth grader at the Torah School of Greater Washington (TSGW) in Silver Spring, Maryland, and will be turning 12 around Purim time. To celebrate her bat mitzvah, she created and contributed a piece of decorative artwork to the Bikur Cholim Room at Holy Cross Hospital as part of the Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington (BCGW) Art from the Heart program.
BCGW is a volunteer-based organization that provides free services to patients and their loved ones. Art from the Heart encourages local kids and teens to provide artwork to brighten the walls of the BCGW kosher hospital pantries at area hospitals.
“I’ve entitled this picture ‘Purim in Color.’ It is my version of Purim on a paper,” said Brookler.
