A venue change due to weather Sunday June 3 couldn’t dampen the spirits of the more than 2,000 people from across The Greater Washington area who gathered for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Israel@70: A Musical Celebration. Relocated to the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner in Virginia, just steps from the original outdoor venue at The Plaza at Tysons Corner Center, the event maintained its music festival vibe with a high-energy lineup of Tzofim Friendship Caravan, Rami Feinstein, Kippalive, and headliner Nadav Guedj.

Before the main activities, young leaders from across Greater Washington celebrated with Israeli cocktails and great company before the concert with Federation’s Young Leadership at Earl’s Kitchen + Bar. The celebration also featured Israeli dancing, fun photo booths, and other family-friendly activities.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating 70 years and the incredible opportunity to bring our Greater Washington community together to showcase our love and pride of Israel,” said Pete Federowicz, co-chair of the celebration.

As part of the PJ Library family programming area, attendees decorated squares to be combined into a large community mosaic. The finished product will be shared with the public when it goes on display at Federation’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 7 at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue. The reception starts at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.
