Are you ready to rock? This year’s Charles E. Smith Barbara and Allan Topol Middle School Musical, “Rock of Ages: Middle School Edition,” will be hitting the stage March 14 at 7:30 p.m. and March 17 at 2 p.m. at Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland.

Built around classic rock songs from the 1980s, Chris D’Arienzo’s Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” is set on L.A.’s famous Sunset Strip in 1987 and tells the story of Drew, “a city boy from South Detroit,” and Sherrie, “a small-town girl,” who have both travelled to L.A. to chase their dreams of making it big. “Rock of Ages: Middle School Edition” is a condensed version of the original, also created by D’Arienzo, adjusted for appropriate content and adapted for teen voices. Of course, the middle school version still includes iconic numbers like “Don’t Stop Belevin’,” “We Built this City,” “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You.”

The event is almost sold out, but they are still available for purchase at https://www.showtix4u.com/events/CESJDS. Tickets cost $5 for students and alumni and $10 for non-alumni adults.
