For the Upper School Media Center Art Competition at Berman Hebrew Academy in Rockville, Maryland, students were given the challenge to create artwork that could bring a poem to life.

Winners were chosen from each grade: Tekoa Sultan-Reisler (10th grade) won with her depiction of the poem “A Loss of Memory” by James Langlas; Orley Faleder (11th grade) for her depiction of the poem “Aristotle” by Billy Collins; and Ruthie Vogel (12th grade) for her depiction of “Sonnet 71” by William Shakespeare. Honorable Mentions went to Shulie Frenkel, Tal Bresler, and Lili Panitch.

The beautiful works of art are currently on display in the Upper School Media Center.
