High schoolers at Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS) in Rockville, Maryland, recently heard a panel of experts explore the following question: To what end is Israel fulfilling its social justice responsibilities?

The panelists joined the CESJDS community to model productive discourse and to provide a variety of viewpoints with which our students can identify or explore. Panelists included: Jeremy Kadden, senior international policy advocate at the Human Rights Campaign (HRC); Ned Lazarus, visiting professor at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and an Israel Institute Teaching Fellow; David May, research analyst specializing in economic warfare at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD); and Tamara Cofman Wittes, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution’s Center for Middle East Policy.
