Approximately 3,000 Baltimore residents attended the JCC of Greater Baltimore’s annual Community Block Party June 3. The event had to move indoors at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC due to the inclement weather, but that didn’t stop the fun for visitors of all ages.

“We are blessed to live in a community where we can all celebrate its diversity together at the JCC,” said Melissa Seltzer, senior director of J Kids Baltimore.

With live acts on two stages and strolling performers as well, entertainment included an interactive game show, magic with The Rudos, hip hop with The Crowd Pleazers, local cover band The Radio Pilots, and a DJ and dancing with NYX Events. Booths manned by local organizations offered family-friendly activities such as glitter hair, face-painting, and henna tattoos. There were opportunities to shop for clothes and crafts, and kosher food was available for purchase as well.

The event also featured an Israeli vibe, with Hebrew lessons, Israeli dance instruction, and beautiful Israeli music celebrating Israel’s 70th birthday.
