On International Holocaust Remembrance Day (Jan. 27), George Mason University’s Hillel hosted “Expressions of the Holocaust,” sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC). More than 100 people attended the event.

Avi West, senior educator at the Federation, offered perspectives on the film about children of the Nazis, “Nazi Legacy: The Troubled Descendants.” Then, JCRC Education Outreach Director Steve Adleberg introduced five Holocaust survivors —Marcel and Ania Drimer, Maria Dworzecka, Janos Gertler, and Ruth Kohn — who spoke to the assembled students and community members in small break-out sessions that followed.
